THE AVANT-GARDE w/ Danielle Davidson

It's 2025, let's dig deeper and try new ways to inspire and enrich our improv experience. In this class we'll explore theatrical techniques, movement exercises, and source our scenes from soundscapes and objects, to find new ways to develop character, unveil spontaneity, and connect to authentic responses for ourselves and in connection with our scene partners. Discover new perspectives and layers to make your scenes more visually compelling while practicing presence with clarity and confidence.

PREREQUISITES:

This Advanced Level Class Series is designed with improvisers, actors, and/or movement practitioners in mind. You must have at least 6 months of in-class improv experience, and significant performance experience and training (in theatre or an improvisational performance practice(s)). If you are unsure if this includes you or your experience, please contact us. We may reach out to inquire about your training, as this is for experienced performers and improvisers, we encourage you to reach out and email us if you have any questions about prerequisites at variationsmileendimprov@gmail.com

PLEASE NOTE: 

In order to offer the best class experience, we require registrants to be able to attend all these days/times they've registered for. Arrive 5 minutes before class begins in order to not disturb a class in session.

Once you register, you will wait to receive an INVOICE, within 24 hours. Once you receive the invoice you will have 24 hours to make your payment to secure your spot

We cannot accept credit cards or cheques, if you’d like to pay by cash, please let us know and we will arrange an appointment.

Mile End Improv is a safe space. Absolutely no abusive behaviour of any kind will be tolerated.

This is a commitment, and we expect those who register to attend the classes they’ve signed up for. Please be considerate; missing a class will affect the other participants and the delivery of the class material for everyone. There are no refunds or credits for missed classes.

Unfortunately, the studios are located on the second floor of the building.

Being a student at Mile End Improv allows you to attend the Every Thursday Improv Show for free during the weeks you are taking classes (if space allows!)
